This time is going to be about 4/1's SELF-AWARENESS camp!!!!!!!! It was a totally touching and enriching experience for me and for most of us involved too. It is the period of time when emotions run high, when rivulets of moisture are seen on our faces, when all of us are bonded......erhem.....those pple who have not had their camps yet, try to resist the temptation of reading this entry. It would really spoil all the fun and excitement..and it defeats the camp's purpose too....
I woke up on the first day, all panicky and frantic..that is because I had not finished packing my bag. Anyway, I was later than usual, and I was late for school singers practice. After assembly, our whole class headed straight for our camp site near Holland V.A nun welcomed us and the whole place seemed rather..."quiet"? Indescribably...calm...ah that's the word!! Anyhow, we were shown our dormitories... and the lithurgical and logistics committees were allocated the dorm in the highest floor!!! So we had to climb till we are breathless everytime....After preparing our beds(which were rather dusty and dust-mite-filled), we had our sessions in a SMELLY room. Initially, it reeked of a musky "pesticidy" odour, but the smell diminished after a while. The first session was an opportunity to know ourselves better. My favourite session was the PHOTO LANGUAGE.During this session, we were asked to choose from a pile of photos the one photo that we can relate to. I chose a tranquil dehumanised scenery. So we were supposed to share why we chose the photos and relate them to our life experiences. Through this session, I got to know that many of my friends had gone through a lot more than i had. Now it seems that my problem that i shared was incomparable to the family and societal problems that my other friends encountered. Of course, many refused to open up. I think I was one of them. I refused to give much details of the probs i had in the "club" I was in. It's not that i dont trust my fellow buddies....but if this really got into the ears of the "club" master who is very influential in the music world, my dreams will probably be shattered.( no exaggeration intended....realli*).
Yanyi....luv u always k???Do confide in me if u need to K???
Cynthia.... hey g al!!!! Be brave k??? Life's not smooth-sailing. Follow your heart..tell your parents about your feelings if u need to ???
Yien....haha the first one to share. That time don't have the right mood yet...later I caught u tearing...
Lunch was SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Being a good food critic, I would rate it excellent for a catered lunch. All thanks to Sarah and the food com....The garlic bread was lovely and the apple crumbles was out of this world. Dinner was like a free time for all of us. We get to go our separate ways with our separate cliques. Yanyi, Cynthia, Yien and I went to eat Katong Laksa. Yien could not savour the great taste of the laksa coz she fell quite sick at that time, so she was stuck with a bowl of....century egg porridge.(*giggle*) Cynthia and I were enjoying the laksa very much. However, Yanyi was kindda struggling with the heat and hot spices. Well she lost her voice after that...hahahaha.....erhem...apologies..
Talentime! Many groups stretched their vocal chords. I sang too, with 2 grps, and a duet with the lark, Sarah...LITING...oh my gosh...she surprised me with her singing. Her voice is real SWEET. oh and YUNING with her COOL look as she did a rap and a dance by ENERGY. GO YUNING!! JESSIE ARH....U VERY CUTE LEH!!!!
