December, Christmas of "The Seasons" op 37a
by Tchaikovsky
Christmas is a vibrant festival that is represented by a mirage of colours. Some people looked forward to a white christmas, others turned to the typical greens and reds that usu rep the holly and the vine. However this christmas season is no longer that exciting and fun-filled and has become, instead a "black Christmas". The Tsunami waves that wiped out a large population in SEA has also washed away all hopes and wishes of those who have lost their loved ones to these deadly waves. Luckily, Singapore is safe as Sumatra has blocked us from these tidal waves that shot up to about 7 stories high.
Maybe it is because i did not do enough preparations, that is why i did not have the christmassy and meditative feel during this season. What i mean by preparations is in terms of psychological and spiritual readiness to accept the Lord during this advent season. I was too uptight in preparing myself to perform well in wedding and church ceremonies like confirmation that i have neglected my bond with the Lord...adding to that...i had to prepare for my mep auditions which involve practising one sonata and another grade 8 composition, and also revising my music theory and all.....that is why i feel so empty....u noe ...it is like a deep hollow pit in my heart that kind of thing......So what i went for masses and all........no offence ........the cantate in CRC was not inspiring...the congregation's spirits were not uplifted to the point that everybody could sing their hearts without being overly conscious of themselves.....
